My Broken Fix-up

This is how it looked before I did anything with it:
This little jewelry cabinet means a lot to me because  I saw it every other weekend when I slept over my friend's house since I was 7 until December of last year. I have had this for maybe a year or two, she didn't want it anymore so I said I would take it ( because I liked it, and it has good memories) Sadly, one day the door of it broke of, as you can see, and the glass came out. I forget how it happened. Anyway I thought I couldn't use it anymore so I was going to throw it out. By the way the glass was NOT broken, I just didn't think it was useful. Until yesterday but it was to late, I threw it out MONTHS ago. :(  (and sorry about the fuzzy pictures I was using a really bad camera)

This is when its almost done. I originally wanted to paint it red but I did not have any red paint :( so I went with a light light blue ( not white) and metallic copper and black paint. Looks cool, doesn't it?
Anyway here it is finished :

See you can tell its blue in this picture. So my mom thought of putting a piece of wood where the open space was but instead of wood we put very thick cardboard and I also painted that black, but thinking of painting it with blackboard paint, so I could draw stuff on it. So out of all the projects I have done so far I like this one the best.
I hope you enjoyed :)

  1. Megan,

I think it turned out fantastic! I love the color and placing the cardboard in place of the glass was a very clever idea! Amazing what a bit of TLC can do to reinvent an old piece and make it look like new again! :)
